What is garda doma
Imagine yourself visiting your family country house, where everyone's waiting for you: parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles, sisters and brothers, all preparing their hearts for your arrival. The same way we at Garda Doma are expecting you to come. It is all done here in a way that you could feel yourself at home, in a family environment; we actually want this place, for a period of time chosen by you, to be your home. This is the touchstone of our philosophy.

We live by the base of the Southern Limestone Alps, close to the bank of Garda, the largest lake in Italy (the locals call it "non-saline sea"), in a medieval village called Sommavilla. The villas, casas and rental apartments are all located within walking distance to the main 400-years-old Garda Home where our big family dwells in. You hear it? You smell it? The odor of dinner that is being prepared; the sound of voices chatting and laughing, the voices that soon enough will become so familiar to you, so intimate, so your-own-side.
Here you can spend the entire morning in bed, waiting for breakfast, or, having been woken up with the birds, open the window to watch the peaks of the mountains slowly become pink, and then yellow, and then almost silver as the wispy light penetrates the valley, filling it up to the brim.
Breakfast is the time we often spend together, as all families do, in all country houses on the planet. What shall it be today? Well, someone is okay with a cup of coffee, brioche and fresh fruits; someone prefers porridge or pancakes with a homemade confiture… And someone (maybe you?) before exploring the mountain paths or riding a bike from village to village, would want to eat something more substantial, like fried eggs and ham, with sun-dried tomatoes and a couple of slices of fresh-baked bread, made by Alyona and Tonya every morning. Members of the household and the guests are sitting on one big table.

The sun is happily knocking on the windows.

After breakfast you can leave the kids with our highly-qualified nanny and...

...have a walk by the ancient Templar road. Or you can load the whole of your family into the car and have a ride to the town of Malcesine, which used to be the Venetian capital of all Garda-settlements. There you can visit the old Scaliger Castle and walk the narrow, cobblestone streets, along the colorful houses immortalized by Gustav Klimt. In the summer, using the cable railway, you can run away from the flaming July to the shades and chills of the highlands; or you can do it during winter, on a Christmas Eve, say, arranging yourself a really white Christmas.

Or, if you prefer to improve your skills in the art of stillness, laying on the hammock with a book, or sitting on a deckchair contemplating mountains, water, lazy waves and distant boats, you're free to do so either. Alyona and Tonya will take care of all the mundane particularities.
And every evening you are keenly awaited at Garda Home's fireplace lounge or the summer patio, to discuss, setting over the dinner, your experiences and impressions. We, in our part, will tell you about yet untrodden, non-touristic routes or absolutely non-deductible charms and wonders. Or you can just sit quietly in the distant corner of the garden, alone with your thoughts and the mountain landscapes, the beauty of which is at the same time noble and soft.

Long story short, you're totally free of doing whatever you want. To have the kind of rest you dreamed of for years, you wished for yourself, but for one reason or another still didn't have it. You have it now. We will take care of everything else.
